background
I’m Joe — security engineer by trade, military by formation, builder by habit.
I came up through operations-heavy environments where the question is never “is the system elegant” but “does the system survive contact with reality.” That bias bleeds into everything I ship: small surface area, boring tools, honest documentation.
These days I work the seam between security engineering and platform work — the unglamorous middle where logging, identity, and incident response all live. It’s a good seam.
now
- Building JQR tools so vet techs and similar trades can stop tracking qualifications on paper.
- Studying offensive security — the slow, deliberate kind, not the capture-the-flag adrenaline kind.
- Shipping joeromaine.com as a real home base instead of a WordPress placeholder.
- Reading more, posting less.
contact
The internet has too many ways to reach me. In rough order of how reliably I’ll answer:
- X / Twitter — @Tank23x0
- LinkedIn — /in/tank23x0
- GitHub — see footer link
- Discord — handle on request
For collaboration, opportunities, or “hey can you look at this”: DM on X is the fastest. For longer-form stuff, LinkedIn is fine.
